Statement of principles from Tim Shorrock, Publisher and Editor:
This publication covers the business of intelligence, including the contractors providing tactical intelligence to the Pentagon and its many military units within the armed services, as well as those companies providing operational support to such deep state agencies as the NSA and the CIA.
Particular attention will be paid to the five companies that now dominate the intelligence industrial complex, giving them a monopoly over an industry crucial to national security: Leidos Inc., Booz Allen Hamilton, SAIC, CSRA Inc., and CACI International as well as other companies that might be considered “pure plays” (making one product for a single market) in intelligence (CSRA just got bought up by General Dynamics Information Services, so it’s even bigger now).
Intel-Biz Times will also cover the encryption business, which has become the alternative “industry of choice” for Snowden Inc. That’s the term I use for whistleblower Edward Snowden and his fellow technologists in the anti-surveillance community, including the state security-funded Tor network and Pierre Omidyar’s The Intercept (which I wrote about recently in Washington Babylon).
As sole publisher, editor and reporter, Tim Shorrock has no vested interests except the truth, and will spare no organization or institution of unstinting, honest reporting.
Intel Biz Times hopes to become a subscription-based news site, funded through Patreon. Subscribers will get different levels of support, including links to key documents and contracts obtained during the course of my many years of reporting on the intelligence contracting industry. The publisher is interested in any offers for sponsorship, funding or assistance for this site, with the provision Intel Biz Times will remain completely independent in its editorial stance.
