The Military-Industrial Complex at work (Missile division)

The Joint Air to Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) was developed by the Pentagon in 1997 as a joint program for the US Air Force and Navy. It is a precision cruise missile carried on the most lethal weapons vehicles in the US arsenal, including F-16s, B-52s and F/A-18s. It’s also worth billions of dollars to many of our largest defense contractors, including Lockheed Martin. To help us visualize the corporate weapons complex behind this weapon, the US Air Force helpfully prepared a slide show on the JSSM, which I obtained at a recent defense industry conference in Washington. Download page four of this slide show, and you’ll get the picture.
